The Los Angeles Dodgers have finalized a one-year, $6.5 million contract with Kiké Hernández, ensuring the versatile infielder/outfielder remains with the World Series champions for the upcoming season.

The 33-year-old is entering his third straight season with the Dodgers and ninth overall. Having played with Houston (2014), Miami (2014), Los Angeles (2015-20, 2023-), Boston (2021-23), Hernández’ impressive stats include 120 homers and 435 RBI in 1,183 career games.

Hernández has played a key role in securing the Dodgers' second World Series title in the past five years, delivering a go-ahead solo homer in the decisive Game 5 of the National League Division Series against the Padres. He finished the postseason hitting .294 across 14 games, with two home runs and six RBIs.

"It wasn't something for us if we were not able to line up with Kiké, we were going to go, 'Oh, here's the next best option.' Like a lot of times you're targeting a need, you have the player at the top of your list and then others," Friedman said, via Dodgers Territory. "In this case, it was Kiké or nothing."
