The 30th anniversary of cult classic “Blood In Blood Out” will be commemorated with a book signing and screening.

Besides celebrating a film that resonated strongly with Latino audiences, this anniversary event also serves as a tribute to actors such as Enrique Castillo, also known as Montana, whose performances have left an indelible mark on viewers and the cinematic landscape for years to come. His character often gets referred to as the film's conscience, which still endures to this day.

“The enduring legacy of‘Blood In, Blood Out’ is a tribute to everyone involved in making it happen,” said Castillo in a statement.  “I consider myself fortunate to have been a part of it.”

The movie “Blood In, Blood Out” was quietly released 30 years ago by Hollywood Pictures as a tribute to Chicano barrio culture, directed by award-winning Taylor Hackford. To this day, it's evident that “Blood In, Blood Out” and the actors who brought it to life have an enduring influence, as 2,000 tickets were claimed within 24 hours of the event's announcement.

During the book launch and screening, members of the all-star cast will be in attendance to celebrate the film's release, including Benjamin Bratt, Jesse Borrego, Danny Trejo, and Castillo.

While tickets for the screening are sold out, the public is invited to participate in other activities at the Cal State Plaza.
