602 day

Back after a successful first year, Phoenix and its surrounding cities are set to celebrate 602 Day, an honorary date that uses Phoenix's most emblematic — and official — area code, 602, to promote neighborly engagement, uplift local businesses and help residents feel a sense of belonging to the fifth largest city in the U.S.

Countless businesses are set to participate in the festive day taking place on Monday, June 2. According to a press release from the City of Phoenix, over 250 businesses and organizations will participate offering activities, deals and special events in celebration of 602 Day.

"602 Day is a celebration of everything Phoenix - our local businesses, diverse neighborhoods and the creative spirit that drives our City forward," Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego said in the release. "It’s a chance for residents to show their hometown pride, discover new local experiences and sample some great cuisine. I’m proud to see our community come together for a day that’s uniquely and proudly Phoenix."

Here's a list of some Latino-owned and run participating businesses and organizations and what they'll be offering starting this weekend.
