Carmen Perez-Jordan, President and CEO of The Gathering For Justice
Earlier this month, the President's request to relocate the Declaration of Independence to the Oval Office sparked widespread concern. Many questioned the implications of removing the foundational document from its long-standing location at the National Archives, where it has been preserved as a symbol of democracy and public heritage for nearly 250 years.
As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary in 2026, what hopes do you have for the United States as it moves toward its next 250 years?
Community leaders like Carmen Perez-Jordan, President and CEO of The Gathering For Justice, call on communities across the nation to reimagine its future with a Declaration of Interdependence.
The Gathering For Justice is a nonprofit founded by artist and activist Harry Belafonte.
