If your school’s prom will be boring, Chicxs Rockerxs South East LA (CRESLA) has an event for youth.

Their “Goth Queer Prom” will be a free night of “glam, goth, and pure joy for high school youth.”

It is presented by Latino Equality Alliance, REACH LA, Chicxs Rockerxs SELA, CHLA Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine, the AMAAD Institute, and Rainbow Labs.

Before the goth prom, if you need help with your fit, they will have a “Glam Day” on Friday, May 7. There will be free goth clothing, jewelry and accessories. Free food and a runway class with Swift Carl Roman. There will also be a DIY upcycling table so you can learn to distress, rip, and stud your fits. Glam Day will be from 5pm - 8pm at Reach LA, 1400 E Olympic Blvd. #240, Los Angeles, CA 90021.

The alternative prom night will have food, resources, music, performances, dancing, a 360 photobooth and more. You are welcome to wear whatever you want, but they encourage dressing for the theme of goth. The prom will be on Saturday, May 17 from 6pm- 10pm. Performances start at 6:30pm at Pieter Performance Space in Lincoln Heights, 2701 N Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90031. You can RSVP to both events here.
