Adelita Grijalva, the daughter of the late U.S. Rep. Raúl Grijalva, is one step closer to filling the seat he left in Congress.
A week after Adelita Grijalva won the election to represent Arizona’s 7th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, Republicans in Washington D.C. are refusing to swear her in.
Amid a week-long government shutdown, representative-elect Adelita Grijalva has yet to be sworn in. Senators Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego called on Speaker Mike Johnson to get back to work.
