In honor of National Hispanic Month, the Jack Rutberg Fine Arts in Pasadena is celebrating by displaying a collection evolving exhibition "ART: A to Z," which features paintings, drawings, prints, and sculptures by some of the prominent artists of Hispanic origins.

Included in this exhibition are works by artists of Spain, including Francisco Goya, Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, Antoni Clave, Antoni Tapies and the formidable Catalan artist introduced and represented in the U.S. by Jack Rutberg Fine Arts and Jordi Alcaraz.

Artists from Central and South America include Roberto Matta, Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Francisco Zuniga, Rufino Tamayo, Gunther Gerzso, Rafael Coronel, Alfredo Ramos-Martinez, Jean Charlot and Jose Luis Cuevas.

In the U.S. until the 1970s, the Latin American artists widely known were eminent Mexican muralists like Rivera, Siqueiros, Orozco, and a few widely exhibited artists such as Zuniga, Cuevas and Tamayo. Frida Kahlo, by contrast, was barely considered but in today's world, she is one of the most recognized artists.

A brief video of the "Artists of Mexico" exhibition can be viewed here.
