Firefighters work to stretch containment lines around the deadly Eaton Fire in the Altadena and Pasadena areas that has burned 14,117 acres, with containment rising to 33% as of Monday afternoon.
Here is a portion of our video coverage of the Eaton fire:
Michelle Zacarias and Brenda Verano provide coverage of the devastation caused by the Eaton Fire. It has left countless working-class Black and Latino families displaced, and vital community spaces like Franklin Elementary reduced to ash.
Edgar Ibarra, 22, shares the intense experience of evacuating his family as the Eaton wildfires swept through Altadena. While his family fled to safety, his father stayed behind to protect their home — a house he renovated and raised his family in after he emigrated from Jalisco, Mexico.
José Medina is a working class community member who has lived in his multi-generational home for over 40 years. His home survived the Eaton Canyon fire, though it was severely damaged by high winds and nearby house fires.
Medina spoke with Gisselle Palomera from CALÓ News to share his story and his blessings for others who have been affected.
Pasadena donations relocated to 100 W. Walnut St, about a mile away from the original location at the Rose Bowl.
Gisselle Palomera gives updates from the Altadena area and the fire's aftermath.
