The Grammy Award-winning East L.A. band Quetzal is playing this Saturday, May 3.
Quetzal’s sound is rooted in community and storytelling. Founded in 1993, the band blends Chicanx rock, R&B and Mexican folk traditions into politically-charged, poetic songs.
The concert will be a homegrown celebration of culture, resistance, and radical joy. Quetzal is also doing a free matinee performance for local students on Friday, May 2 as part of CAP UCLA’s Design for Sharing program.
The May 3 concert will be at The Nimoy (CAP UCLA’s theater in Westwood).
More info:
- Friday, May 2: student matinee for grades 4-8, at 11:45 am.
- Saturday, May 3 at 8pm. Tickets here. The Nimoy is located at 1262 Westwood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90024.
