Perreo 4 Peace turns up the music for their third fundraiser to help immigrant families

Perreo 4 Peace is back for its third event at Mi Corazón Mexican Cuisine, and 100% of ticket proceeds will be donated to the Immigration Services Organization (IMMIGO) supporting Latino immigrant families across Los Angeles County.

IMMIGO was founded in the San Fernando Valley in 2019 and has been committed to providing immigrants and their families with essential support, resources and any other services they may need. 

Their immigration services program, in collaboration with volunteer attorneys, helps individuals navigate processes with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) by offering free or low-cost legal support tailored to families’ needs. Through mobile and virtual services, they also expand access for working-class families, ensuring they have the same opportunities to file applications and receive assistance with immigration forms.

DJOMW was genuinely surprised by the turnout at the first event, raising about $2,500 through the sale of $8 tickets. They followed it up with $2,378 in February and are now looking ahead to this Friday’s third event, hoping for another strong turnout from L.A. and surrounding communities.

“Be the change en tu comunidad,” DJOMW said, calling on Latinas and Latinos to hit the dance floor for a night filled with old-school reggaetón, dembow, cumbias, salsa, bachata, merengue and many more Spanish-language genres.
