Latino/x organizations signed a letter to both major political parties about the lack of voter outreach.

15 leading organizations signed a letter to the Democratic and Republican National Committees, expressing disappointment.

"We are alarmed by both major parties’ lack of investment in Latino/x voters,” said Lupe M. Rodríguez, executive director of the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice. “In one of the most consequential election years, outreach to our communities has been abysmal. Recent polling by UnidosUS found most Latino/x voters have not been contacted this year, including those living in swing states.”

The National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice is one of the 15 organizations that signed the letter.

Rodríguez continued in a statement. “Latinos/xs are a crucial part of the electorate. We are 36 million strong–the second-largest group of voting-age Americans. Recent polling from Intersections of Our Lives found that Latinas/xs have the potential to vote in higher numbers if they see policymakers and politicians speak to and address the issues they care about.”
