The inspiring family movie “The Long Game” is now available to rent or own.

The movie is based on the true story of a Mexican American team of teen golfers who bring pride back to their Texas communities despite facing discrimination and racism. It has earned a 97% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Created by Mucho Mas Media, “The Long Game” is available on digital platforms to own or rent and will be available to own on DVD on June 11 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.

The film challenges the idea that golf has always been a game played by the elite, with a tale that is based on a true story, inspired by the book “Mustang Miracle” written by Humberto G. Garcia.

More importantly, the story shows that Mexican Americans and Latinos have been playing golf since the 1950s, even if they weren’t allowed in country clubs.

It’s a classic underdog team story in the style of “Remember the Titans” and “McFarland, USA.”

The caddies play golf with outdated and inferior equipment, initially with no professional instruction. That is until the most rebellious of the caddies, Joe Trevino, played by Julian Works, hits the golf ball with fate, in a way.

The movie’s cast includes Dennis Quaid, Jay Hernandez from “Suicide Squad,” Latino comedy icon Cheech Marin, Jaina Lee Ortiz from “Station 19,” Brett Cullen and Oscar Nuñez.

Make sure you have your tissues ready, because if you haven’t been able to watch in theaters, you might sniffle with this heart-felt and uplifting true story about five young Mexican American caddies in 1957.
