The car-free open streets event known as CicLAvia will roll through Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Mariachi Plaza and MacArthur Park, and they are calling it “Heart of LA.”

It will be 7.15 miles of open streets and people can walk, jog, bike, roller skate, skate or just hang out.

Participants can show up anywhere along the route between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

CicLAvia—Heart of LA” includes four hubs filled with activities and programs along the route. Hubs are walking zones (mandatory dismounts) and meeting points along the route, which include the MacArthur Park Hub located on West 7th St adjacent to MacArthur Park; Chinatown Hub located on N Broadway north of College St; Little Tokyo Hub located on S Central Ave south of 1st St; and Mariachi Plaza Hub located on 1st St east of S Boyle Ave. Hubs offer free family-friendly activities, restrooms, free water refilling stations, free basic bike repair, bike parking, places to sit and meet up with friends and family, and first aid. Free pedicab rides are available at each hub’s information booth.

Theroute is accessible via many different forms of transportation. There is not one place to start or finish. Read more about getting to the route through these links: Hubs, Metro, Bike Share, Parking for the event, Group Meet-Ups: Walk/Run Clubs, Feeder Rides, Bus Detours, and Help Getting to CicLAvia.

“Returning each October to where CicLAvia started in Los Angeles is always nostalgic but there’s also always something new along the route to explore, see, taste, enjoy,” says CicLAvia executive director Romel Pascual. “We have some extra special things planned for this event, which marks CicLAvia’s 15th birthday.”
