Corrections Policy

All of our stories go through a thorough review for journalistic standards and accurate information. However, mistakes can and will happen. When an error is made, we will act in a timely manner to correct the issue and note the change with updated correction language on published content.

Here is how we handle error corrections and updates:

  1. Errors: When a story contains a significant mistake or factual error, the correction will appear in italics at the top of the original story, prefaced with "Correction" and/or "Clarification."
  2. Typos: Spelling or typographical errors that do not affect the story's accuracy or meaning are fixed directly in the text and do not require an italicized correction notice.
  3. Post-Publication Updates: If important context or additional information is added to a story after its original publication date, we will add updated language at the top of the story.

If there are pieces of information that we missed or reported incorrectly, please bring them to our attention by emailing joanna@calonews.com.
