Chiquis Rivera has officially dropped her new single called “Pa’ Mi Gente” , a song dedicated to all the hardworking Latinos.
“Here I share with you for the first time the cover of my song ‘Pa’ Mi Gente.’ A song born from my heart, with love for all of you and for the world. I hope you feel it as special as I did when I created it,” she shared on her Instagram page with her followers.
In her video, she features maids, construction workers, nannies and farmworkers, jobs that are typically known to be taken by the Latino community. Earlier this year, the Trump administration has targeted many farm locations where immigration raids took place, like in Fresno and Oxnard.
According to the National Agricultural Workers Survey (NAWS) conducted in 2018 of approximately 2,500 workers nationally, approximately 77% of farmworkers identify as Hispanic.
“Pa’ Mi Gente” opens with a heartfelt message from the beloved Jenni Rivera, as scenes of agricultural fields play in the background. She introduces herself as a U.S. citizen and shares that her parents are Mexican immigrants and of Mexican descent. “Those are the people who helped me support my five children as a single mother,” she says. “We’re not taking anyone’s job. Those jobs are available—nobody’s doing them. That’s why we have to take them. We ask you, with our heart in our hand, that this hatred and discrimination must stop.”

Chiquis’s song is a special tribute to all the hardworking individuals from all walks of life, highlighting the value of each role that they play. She beautifully explains that every person is doing their job either to keep chasing their dreams or simply to survive.
She truly dedicates the song to her people, those who never give up, who carry the weight of the world on their shoulders, yet still find joy in dancing and strive to make the world a better place.
