Prime Video’s “The Summer I Turned Pretty” changed location at the end of its third season to Paris, where Benito, played by Fernando Cattori, becomes Isabel Conklin’s new love interest.
Isabel, also known as Belly, played by Lola Tung, travels to Paris after her marriage to Jeremiah, played by Gavin Casalegno, is derailed.
That is where she meets Benito and starts a whirlwind romance in the city of love. One that may be short-lived, since Belly plans to go back to the U.S. But enough about Belly.
Fernando Cattori grew up in Cancún, Mexico, swimming and playing in the jungle.
In the show, Benito is a photographer, but in real life, before Cattori started acting, he was a film director and was nominated for a 2024 Latin Grammy Award for filming the musical short film for “Nacimos Llorando” from Rubio. He started filming when he was seven, he told Schön! Magazine.
Cattori said acting and filming have taught him different things. “Acting has taught me to believe and to listen,” he said. “Directing has taught me to speak with confidence and be decisive with my words. One feels more cerebral, the other more emotional, though they’re always brushing up against each other.”
Before playing Belly’s rebound, Cattori acted in “Untamed Royals” and “With You in the Future.”
Many fans of the show are calling him the Mexican Timothy Chalamet.
The last episode of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” airs on Wednesday, September 17, on Prime Video.
