Aubrey Plaza made a statement while speaking at the Wall Street Journal Magazine’s 2024 Innovator Awards about the racist joke from Tony Hinchcliffe.
Plaza, dressed in espooky black, who recently played Rio Vidal in “Agatha All Along,” expressed her opinion on the racist joke heard around the nation.
The joke was uttered at Donald Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally in New York. Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, John Leguizamo, Marc Anthony, and more Latino actors and celebrities have spoken against the comedian’s jokes that called Puerto Rico “garbage,” and warned that there are too many Latinos because “they keep making babies.”
“As a Puerto Rican woman, I just wanted to very quickly respond to the racist joke that was made at that Trump rally about Puerto Rico where most of my family is from,” Plaza said. “Thankfully my sweet abuelita wasn’t here to hear that disgusting remark but if she was alive today I think she would say, Tony Hinchcliffe go f__ yourself.”
