The Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) will hold its 2024 Los Angeles Gala to celebrate the achievements of Latino leaders whose work has positively impacted and uplifted the Latino community.

Representative Grace Napolitano, D-Los Angeles, will receive the Lifetime Achievement—Excellence in Government Service award; Leticia Saucedo, professor of law at UC Davis, will receive the Lifetime Achievement—Excellence in Legal Service award; and artist Robert Vargas will receive the Excellence in the Arts award. 

Founded in 1968, MALDEF is the nation’s leading Latino legal civil rights organization. Their mission is to protect and defend the rights of all Latinos living in the United States and the constitutional rights of all Americans.
