One of the most anticipated Latino music festivals on the West Coast just announced it will cancel this year's edition.
Organizers of Bésame Mucho announced on Monday that the music festival, which was set to be headlined by Shakira, Pitbull and Los Tigres del Norte, has officially been canceled, citing “circumstances beyond [their] control.”
“We take great pride in our annual celebration of exceptional music and culture, connecting generations in a way no other event can. After working tirelessly all year to bring you another unforgettable show in December, we are deeply disappointed to share this news,” organizers wrote in an Instagram post.
The cancellation announcement came less than a month before the festival's original date of December 21, 2025, leaving many ticket buyers upset and unsettled.
This would have been the third year the festival would have been hosted at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
The first-ever Bésame Mucho, produced by Frias Entertainment, was inaugurated in 2022, with tickets selling out in less than 15 minutes.
Fans and ticket buyers had also complained over high, rising prices, with general admission tickets going up to more than $500. Since the first edition, the festival had been received with open arms and excitement as it had showcased a lineup with ’90s Latin pop, rock en español, banda, norteño, cumbia and baladas.
The cancellation of the festival’s 2024 iteration came after Shakira switched her fall arena tour for a stadium run next summer, as first reported by Rolling Stone. Bésame Mucho, which announced its lineup earlier in May, heavily advertised Shakira as one of this year's headliners.
Despite this, the organizers have not given the official reason for the cancellation.
Tickets purchased will be automatically refunded in 30 days.
