Hispanic Heritage Month officially kicks off on Sept. 15 and this year, like many before, metro Phoenix is ready to celebrate its multicultural community with various events.

Here’s a rundown of events happening in the Phoenix area.

El Grito Phoenix

Date: Sept. 13, 4 to11 p.m.

Location: Downtown Phoenix, corner of Third Avenue and Adams Street

Details: “Welcome to the 'El Grito' Festival, an electrifying celebration of Mexican Independence Day. This vibrant event is returning for its fourth year to Downtown Phoenix, and we're thrilled to invite you to immerse yourself in the rich culture, delicious cuisine, and captivating entertainment that Mexico has to offer.” Click here for more information.

Multicultural Fair 2025

Date: Sept. 13, 2 to 7 p.m.

Location: Pioneer Park, 526 E. Main St., Mesa

Details: “Hosted by the East Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (EVHCC) and our Women’s Innovative Network (WIN), this annual event brings together thousands of community members to celebrate culture, connection, and entrepreneurship.” Click here for more information.

El Grito at the Arizona State Capitol

Date: Sept. 15, 7 to 10:30 p.m.

Location: Arizona State Capitol, 1700 W. Washington St., Phoenix

Details: For the fourth consecutive year, the Arizona State Capitol will host the official ceremony commemorating El Grito, featuring Jorge Mendoza Yescas, consul general of Mexico in Phoenix. Come for the traditional Grito — like it's done in Mexico City — stay for the local vendors and entertainment. Click here for more information.

HHM at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix

Date: Sept. 15 through Oct. 15

Location: Children’s Museum of Phoenix, 215 N. 7th St., Phoenix

Details: From arts and crafts involving techniques from greats like Frida Kahlo and Salvador Dalí to live musical events featuring local talent, children of all ages are invited to take in the multicultural celebration of Hispanic culture. Click here for more information.

DTPHX Lotería

Date: Sept. 18, 6 to 8 p.m.

Location: Renaissance Square, 2 N. Central Ave., Phoenix

Details: “Join us for a lively evening in the city dedicated to celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with the community. Chandler Contigo ¡Día de Fiesta!

Date: Sept. 20, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Location: Downtown Library, 22 S. Delaware St., Chandler

Details: “Join us for a vibrant community celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month at Contigo, filled with music, dance, art, food and cultural traditions for all ages. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public. ¡Viva! A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage

Date: Sept. 26, 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Location: Water Tower Plaza, 45 W. Page Ave., Gilbert

Somos Peoria

Date: Sept. 27, 5 to 10:30 p.m.

Location: Centennial Plaza, 9875 N. 85th Ave., Peoria

Mexican Baseball Fiesta

Date: Sept. 26 through 28

Location: American Family Fields of Phoenix, 3805 N. 53rd Ave., Phoenix

Details: “Don’t miss when four of the Mexican Winter League squads, Naranjeros de Hermosillo, Yaquis de Obregon, Algodoneros de Guasave and Tucson Baseball Team formerly known as Los Mayos, square off at the ballpark… It’s a fiesta filled with music, authentic food and great baseball!” Click here for more information.

Latino Pride Festival

Date: Oct. 4, 4 to 11:59 p.m.

Location: Heritage Square, 113 N. 6th St., Phoenix

Details: Join the Latino Pride Alliance for its fifth annual Latino Pride Festival, happening once more at Heritage Square. With live drag performances, local entertainment, vendors and more, join in on the “largest Gathering of Latino LGBTQ+ in Arizona.” Click here for more information.

26th Annual Mariachi and Folklórico Festival with Aida Cuevas

Date: Oct. 4, 7 p.m.

Location: Chandler Center for the Arts, 250 N. Arizona Ave., Chandler

Details: “Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and Mexican culture with a Chandler tradition! The CCA’s 26th Annual Mariachi and Folklórico Festival is presented in partnership with C.A.L.L.E. de Arizona and Maestra Vanessa Ramirez, creating a rich music and dance experience.” Click here for more information.

El Clásico de México: América vs Chivas

Date: Oct. 11, 8 p.m.

Location: State Farm Stadium, 1 Cardinals Dr., Glendale

Details: Soccer fans will get a chance to catch their favorite teams, las Águilas del América and las Chivas de Guadalajara, when they play el clásico de clásicos in Arizona this fall. The Mexican teams are bringing their decades-long rivalry to the State Farm Stadium field in Glendale, Arizona, in October, just as summer’s extreme heat starts to dissipate in the Valley. Indígena: A Latin American Indigenous Celebration

Date: Oct. 12, 2-5 p.m.

Location: Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 W. Rio Salado Pkwy., Tempe

Details: “Presented by Tempe Center for the Arts, enjoy an evening celebrating the indigenous peoples of Latin America curated by Cultural Coalition, Inc. Explore the indígena artistic traditions of dance, music and storytelling, ancestral dancers and musical sounds from Latin America.
