InnerCity Struggle, California Native Project, and other community organizations will be hosting a “Perreo to the Polls: Get Out the Vote” event.
A parade caravan party to the polls will begin at El Sereno Park and travel through the Northeast Neighborhood of Los Angeles and conclude with an evening of music, community and words from local leaders.
The event aims to create a space where voters feel encouraged and safe to head to the polls.
“LA wants to make it loud and clear that we will not be intimidated out of our voice. In turn, we will show up and show out,” the organizers state. “Our Civic engagement event is rooted in pride and celebration for the election. We will joyfully vote together and in power. Los Angeles cannot and won’t be stopped.”
Other organizers include Barrio Action and Councilmember Ysabel Jurado.
Start of Parade: El Sereno Park, 4119 Klamath Pl, Los Angeles, CA 90032
Closing Ceremony: El Padrino, 5024 Huntington Dr. S, LA, CA 90032
Monday, November 3rd, from 4:30-8:30 p.m.
