On Saturday, June 14, Montebello Moms Club will host a vigil to stand in solidarity with the community amidst immigration raids in the city.
This is a family-friendly event, and any form of violence will not be tolerated. Priscilla, a club member, emphasized the importance of teaching children how to exercise their rights, come together peacefully, and promote love and kindness, especially during challenging times
The vigil will be held at Montebello City Hall. As the event is being organized on short notice, they are welcoming support from local businesses and community members who would like to contribute, whether by volunteering or providing services to help make the event possible. “The overall goal of the event is to create a welcoming environment for the kids,” said Priscilla.
The club is currently looking for cultural performers, photographers and kids' storybooks related to the current events happening in the city.
If interested in offering services, donating or volunteering, please send a message to @montebello.moms on Instagram.
