Los Yesterdays

Los Yesterdays.

Los Angeles–based Chicano soul group Los Yesterdays will headline a special Valentine’s Day Souldies Show on February 14 at The Garden Amp in Garden Grove. The night will also feature Thee Heart Tones, Los So Lows and The EmKays for an evening of rich harmonies, R&B grooves and vintage soul swagger.

The band shares, “Nothing goes better together than Souldies and love. Last year we put together a great package of bands to make a Valentine's event for all to come and have a night of music and romance. The show sold out and people loved it.  We decided to return again this year.”

Los Yesterdays have the sound of Southern California’s modern souldies movement, a sound rooted in 1950s–70s sweet soul and preserved, cherished and transformed within Chicano culture.

Los Yesterdays are built around the creative partnership of Gabriel Rowland and Victor Benavides, whose collaboration draws directly from lived experience. Raised between South Central and East Los Angeles, Rowland grew up immersed in vinyl-era soul, while Benavides, reared in a migrant worker family in California’s Central Valley, absorbed the same music through shared barrio spaces with Black, Latino and working-class cultures.

Los Yesterdays’ songs include “Put Your Name On Me,” “Love Is a Game for Fools,” and “Nobody’s Clown.”

Los Yesterdays play on Saturday, Feb 14, 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM (Doors 5:30 PM) at the Garden Amphitheatre, 12762 Main Street, Garden Grove, CA 92840. Tickets are $31.39, All Ages.
