A civic engagement initiative will organize a caravan that will travel through eight cities in Southeast Los Angeles (SELA) on November 3.
The "SELA Decides" initiative, in collaboration with the SELA Collaborative, the Council of Mexican Federations (COFEM), AltaMed Health Services, ABC, the Pat Brown Institute, CalMatters, and the NewStart Housing Corporation, stated in a press release that the caravan aims to encourage residents to participate in Tuesday’s election.
Activities will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a press conference at the NewStart Housing Corporation facilities, located at 3355 Gage Avenue, Huntington Park.
Following the conference, the "Caravan to the polls" will set off at 10:00 a.m., traveling through various communities in Bell, Bell Gardens, Cudahy, Huntington Park, Lynwood, Maywood, South Gate and Vernon, to remind residents of the importance of participating in the election.
"Our vote is our voice. Every election represents an opportunity for our communities to participate, express their priorities, and help shape their future. We invite all families to get informed, take part, and ensure their voices are heard at the ballot box," the SELA Decides initiative press release stated.
