On Friday, December 12, Covered California will host a bilingual, in-person community event and Facebook Live session in partnership with the Latino Equality Alliance (LEA) in Boyle Heights, offering on-site assistance to help individuals enroll in affordable health coverage as the deadline approaches.
The event will feature actor and LGBTQ+ advocate Guillermo Díaz, known for his roles in “Scandal” and “Weeds,” alongside Dr. Jeffrey Reynoso from Covered California and Adriana Alejandre, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) from Latinx Therapy.
Both guest speakers will lead two 30-minute “cafecito” conversations about the importance of mental health, access to affordable care, and how Californians can enroll in health coverage before the December 15 deadline for coverage starting January 1, 2026.
Covered California is an independent part of the state government whose job is to make the health insurance marketplace work for California’s consumers.
