On Sunday, November 16, the Paramount Swap Meet will host its first-ever Día de los Muertos celebration, featuring a Catrina contest that highlights beauty, creativity and cultural tradition.
The Swap Meet has been a cultural and community hub for families across the region for 70 years, and now it is inviting the community to join the festivities and continue the legacy of celebrating heritage and art, while honoring the memories that connect individuals with Day of the Dead.
For those interested in participating in the Catrina contest, judge La Muerte Maria, who is known for her stunning artistry and commitment to cultural representation, will select the two most original Catrina participants as the winners. The entry to the contest is free, so bring your best look, your brightest spirit, and your love for tradition!

The family-friendly event will also include a variety of interactive and cultural activities, such as face painting, community altars, sugar skull crafting, delicious food from multiple vendors, live music, performances by Aztec dancers, and much more.
