The band that can turn an emo song into a cumbia will perform in downtown L.A. once again.
La Nueva Ola de Cumbia is gearing up to perform at DTLA’s La Cita Bar as they wrap a year of spreading their signature style of cumbia rhythms in the U.S. and Mexico.
You can dance to cumbia sounds on the last weekend of the year with Chelyn, Luzio, Tacho and the rest of the lucha libre masked band members. The band members' identities remain a secret, as they conceal their faces behind colorful lucha libre masks.
La Nueva Ola de Cumbia specializes in “cumbiafying” the greatest hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s and beyond. Their songs are for fans of My Chemical Romance or Linkin Park who never thought they would hear their songs in the classic Latino sound.
They have performed for over a decade and have entertained audiences at countless shows in stadiums, arenas and festivals.
Listen to their latest single, “Los Malaventurados No Lloran.”
Saturday, December 27, at La Cita Bar, 336 South Hill Street, Los Angeles, California 90013
