Legado 7, the legendary pioneers of the corridos verdes subgenre, have announced that their upcoming album, “Legendario,” will be their final release as a band. The farewell album is set to be released Friday, July 24.
After a decade-long career, the grupo is ending its journey on a high note, making this a milestone moment not only for its members but also for regional Mexican music and Latino culture.
In this new album, Legado 7 brings their signature norteño sound with lyrics about the everyday struggles of working-class immigrants while also singing about heartbreak, love and the powerful force they feel deep inside for their family.
By writing songs with cannabis themes and using Cali style and streetwear while performing, they have inspired some of the most important artists in the música regional mexicana genre of today.
Their independent label, Lumbre Music, has helped shape the next generation of regional Mexican artists. The band played a key role in launching acts like Fuerza Regida, which recently completed its first stadium tour, as well as the Washington state-based grupo Yahritza y Su Esencia.
They have also collaborated with emerging artists early in their careers, including Natanael Cano and Junior H. Legado 7's influence has even extended to artists like Peso Pluma, who shared his admiration for the band during one of their concerts in Orange County.
