Nadya Rasheed and Claudia Sheinbaum

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum accepts the letter certifying the credentials of Nadya Rasheed as the Palestinian Ambassador to Mexico. 

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum officially recognized Nadya Rasheed as the Palestinian Ambassador to Mexico.  

During a ceremony In March to accept the letter certifying the credentials of ambassadors of several countries, including Finland, Jamaica and others, the Mexican president also acknowledged the Palestinian Ambassador. 

In a social media post, the ambassador said she was grateful for Mexico defending human values. 

President Sheinbaum officially recognized Palestine as a state last October. 

Sheinbaum is Mexico’s first president of Jewish origin and has stated that she supports a two-state solution for the people of Israel and Palestine.

After South Africa filed a complaint alleging possible acts of genocide against Israel before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Mexico joined the complaint, according to Mexico News Daily.
