This election season, it seems that conservatives have started brainstorming, not to find solutions, but to screw up the lives of immigrants who are already in the United States and migrants who want to one day reach this country. And, consequently, more and more radical and meaningless proposals are emerging.
For example, the strongest political leader that conservatism currently has, Donald John Trump, has proposed that only people from beautiful, stable and wonderful countries like Denmark, Switzerland or Norway should be allowed to enter the country (which Trump wanted to say, but does not dare to be so explicit, is that the US should accept more immigrants, as long as they are white people). Specifically, another meaningless proposal.
The Trump campaign is doing everything possible to make themselves look like the “iron fist” which is going to fix the problem quickly and efficiently, when in reality they have already had the presidency for four years and, with all their iron fist, they did little or nothing of what they were supposed to do regarding immigration.
Even in its current campaign ahead of the 2024 presidential election, the MAGA movement uses people's death and pain to ask for the vote. They use isolated cases of undocumented immigrants who committed a serious crime and later try to turn each case into a national scandal, making it look like all the serious crimes that happen in the US are perpetrated by “evil” undocumented immigrants.
They still do not propose anything serious, just pure anti-immigrant hate speech used as a campaign banner towards the 2024 presidency. And, the most unfortunate thing, it seems that the strategy is working for them.
In this context, anti-immigrant Trump is advancing in his attempt to re-establish himself in the White House. And, as the election continues to progress, I don't see what or who can stop it.
If something unprecedented does not happen between now and November that changes the entire political scenario, we can be sure that anti-immigrant Trump will be back in the presidency for four additional years.
