Organizers for the 2025 Festival Chapin de Los Angeles have decided to reschedule due to actions taken by immigration authorities in L.A. County and neighboring areas.
“Following careful analysis and legal consultations,” their statement reads, the festival has been rescheduled from August 30-31, 2025, to Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the same location and time as previously announced.
“This decision aims to ensure the safety and well-being of all sponsors, collaborators, staff and attendees,” the statement continues.
Musical talent and comedians from Guatemala were originally scheduled to be in attendance, including Los Tres Huitecos, Los Mamboteros, En La Mira Con K-riño, Tambor de La Tribu, Marimba Alegría Chapina and many more.
When: October 11 & 12, 2025, in Lafayette Park, Los Angeles, 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
