Pedro Paramo

Media Arts Santa Ana (MASA) and the Mexican Consulate in Orange County will have a free screening of Rodrigo Prieto's haunting new adaptation of the Juan Rulfo Classic, “Pedro Paramo.”

The film stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (“The Lincoln Lawyer”) and Tenoch Huerta (“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”).

The screening will take place on Friday, June 20, at TVGB Digital Maker Space, located at 1666 N Main in Santa Ana, across the street from Norms in the Santa Ana Arts Collective building.

Free street parking is available on 16th and Bush streets. Metered parking on Main St. is easily accessible from the 5 Freeway at the 17th Street exit. The film is for mature audiences, ages 17 and up and in Spanish with subtitles. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

This adaptation of Juan Rulfo's classic work of magical realism follows one man's journey along a dusty road to a town of death. Time shifts from one consciousness to another in a hypnotic flow of dreams, desires and memories, a world of ghosts dominated by the figure of Pedro Páramo, lover, overlord, murderer.

Friday, June 20 at 5 p.m. at TVGB Digital Maker Space, 1666 N Main in Santa Ana. Click here for free tickets
