The East Los Angeles YMCA, is hosting a Fire Relief Resource Open House on Friday, July 31, for families affected by the Lineage Warehouse Fire.
The event will feature resources from dozens of community organizations and will include distribution of free backpacks and school supplies to students. Additionally, it will give out free groceries, air purifiers and essentials to approximately 500 families in the East L.A. community.
Last year, the YMCA helped families who were impacted by the Eaton Fire in Pasadena and Altadena. Now that Boyle Heights residents are being affected by the Lineage Logistics ongoing harm and threatening health implications, the organization is stepping up by also providing free memberships, free sleepaway camp for children and mental health resources.
Time: 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Lincoln Heights annual school supply giveaway
Families in Lincoln Heights are invited on Saturday, August 1, for the 3rd Annual Lincoln Heights Back to School Giveaway.
This free, block party-style celebration is returning to serve hundreds of Angelenos, and it will not only distribute school supplies. The event will also feature two stages with live entertainment for the whole family, with performances by Grupo Encargado, Sour Milk, Rick Saiz and Xipe Totec Los Ángeles.
There will be inflatable games, the Natural History Mobile Museum, SK8-BRD-BUS mobile skate shop, literacy services from the Los Angeles Public Library, local food trucks, community resources, a classic car show and even haircuts for the kids.
Time: 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
When: Saturday, August 1, 2026.
