DSA LA goes sexy on social media video to support primary candidates

Actress and comedian Sasheer Zamata, who was an SNL cast member and has starring roles in “Woke” and “Agatha All Along,” stars in a social media video from the Los Angeles chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America to promote some of the City of Los Angeles candidates they support. 

In the video, Zamata opens her door to canvassers who are not shy about wearing tank tops and blowing kisses for politics. The video continues to display other canvassers who remove their shirts and pour water in an alluring way. 

Some of the candidates they mention, if someone pays attention to the content of the video besides the flexing pecs, are incumbent city council member Eunisses Hernandez from District 1 and Marissa Roy for city attorney. The current city attorney is Hydee Feldstein Soto. 

The video continues with promoting Estuardo Mazariegos, a candidate running for District 9, incumbent Hugo Soto-Martinez from District 13, incumbent Rocío Rivas for LAUSD’s District 2 and Faizah Malik for City of L.A. District 11’s council seat.

One of the canvassers, played by James Tang, flexes his muscles towards the end and asks Zamata, “Can we count on your vote?” 

She responds, “Yes, you had me at when shirts were off.” 

Then, a woman walks by and viewers can see the men on the front porch with a lady using a leaf blower to set the scene, just to bring home the self-aware concept.
