Next month, Plaza Mexico will host its annual Día de la Virgen de Guadalupe celebration, featuring a traditional procession of Las Mañanitas, pan dulce, live performances by a mariachi and banda and more.
This free family-friendly event commemorates the miraculous appearance of Our Lady of Guadalupe to the indigenous man Juan Diego on Tepeyac Hill, where her image was imprinted on his cloak. The theatrical reenactment of the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe will include the creation of a symbolic altar with a variety of vibrant flowers.
Plaza Mexico is located in the emerging city of Lynwood, 14 miles south of downtown Los Angeles. The plaza is well-known for its 420,000 square feet of retail, dining and office space, integrated with cultural influences to offer a dynamic experience of shopping, food, and entertainment to the residents of Lynwood and surrounding areas. Join them in this celebration of faith, tradition and community.
