To the Dodgers Organization,
The Dodgers have always been more than just a baseball team. You represent the heart of Los Angeles—a city built by hardworking, diverse communities who have supported this team for generations. From Jackie Robinson breaking barriers to Fernando Valenzuela inspiring millions, the Dodgers have stood for progress, inclusion, and the people of this city.
But the team’s history isn’t perfect. We can’t ignore the pain caused by the destruction of Chávez Ravine—when Mexican American families were forced from their homes to make way for Dodger Stadium. That betrayal left scars that still exist today. Now, by choosing to visit Donald Trump’s White House, the World Series Champion Dodgers risk betraying another generation of fans.
Trump has spent years attacking Los Angeles and the very people who have built this city and this team.
He has insulted and vilified our city, calling it a disaster.
He has pushed racist, anti-immigrant policies that directly harm the Latino and Black communities that make up a huge part of your fanbase.
His administration erased Jackie Robinson’s military service from official records, showing complete disregard for one of baseball’s greatest heroes.
He has fought to dismantle diversity, equity, and inclusion—the same values that have made baseball, and this team, what it is today.
So, Dodgers, ask yourselves: Who do you stand with?
Do you stand with the people of Los Angeles, or with a man who disrespects them?
Do you stand with Jackie Robinson and Fernando Valenzuela, or with someone who tries to erase their legacies?
Do you want to be remembered for uplifting this city, or betraying it—again?
This is bigger than baseball. A White House visit isn’t just a photo-op—it’s a statement. And standing with Trump means standing against Los Angeles.
We urge you—ownership, players, and sponsors—to reject this visit. Stand with the people who have stood by you for generations. Don’t make the same mistake twice.
History will remember your decision.
Sincerely,
J. Lopez
