
Superchief Gallery LA will host the “Understanding Ethics + Rights of Protest Photography” panel discussion on Friday, as well as a film and photo book fest on Saturday.
The panel will cover safety tips, rights as a photographer and protecting protestor privacy, plus more. Panelists include Estevan Oriol, Erika Weitz, Lexis-Olivier Ray and Zane Meyer. It is moderated by Glenna Gordon. The protest photography panel will be on Friday, July 25, 7-9 p.m. at Superchief Gallery LA, 1965 S Los Angeles St. Tickets to the panel are $10.
The Contagious Culture film fest & photo book fair will be held on Saturday, July 26, from 7:00 - 11:00 p.m.

The “Contagious Culture Vol. 5” exhibition will close with an event to reflect the show. It will feature dozens of independent photo vendors, films by some of LA's best street journalists and the entire massive Contagious Culture Vol. 5 photo exhibition. The exhibition is presented by Estevan Oriol.
The “Contagious Culture Vol. 5” features a curated selection from submissions by professional and amateur photographers alike. The exhibition is the fourth annual installment of the group photography series and covers a wide range of underground life in Los Angeles since 2020, including skating, biking, protest, and more. This limited edition book features all of the photographs included in the “Contagious Culture Vol. 5” Exhibition and it was curated by Estevan Oriol and Bill Dunleavy. Featuring the photography exhibition Contagious Culture Vol. 5, a submission-based photography exhibition featuring 265 photos by 160 different photographers.
Superchief Gallery LA has been fundraising to stay open this year.
