Flor Zaragoza the 27-year-old activist and influencer known for her Instagram account, @flowerinspanish, is being sued by The Wonderful Company LLC (TWC).

On November 11, TWC filed a personal injury lawsuit against Zaragoza. This case was filed in Santa Clara County Superior Courts, Downtown Superior Court located in Santa Clara, California. The complaint filed by The Wonderful Company LLC alleges defamation accusations by Zaragoza.

According to the case summary, during nationwide on-campus student protests the same month regarding Israel's occupation in Gaza, she posted on her Instagram account "Wonderful Co. Funds the Occupation. Now how big of a role did they play on the attacks on UCLA students?"

It also stated that Zaragoza’s Instagram posts became more explicitly antisemitic on November 17, when she went after the company for posting that "[i]t's Zionist companies like the Wonderful Company that we need to boycott."

It also added that Zaragoza even traveled to Los Angeles to participate in protests in front of TWC's headquarters in Los Angeles and lastly defamed the company by stating in another post that TWC is "poisoning" its foods, spraying RoundUp on its crops, and paying for "cloud seeding contaminating everything.”

The TWC’s states that all of those accusations are patently false and designed by Zaragoza to harm the company’s image and reputation.

Zaragoza has now gone on Instagram to share the news with her followers. “Hey, guys I'm being sued by the Wonderful Company and I share this with you guys because I value being transparent with this community. It is heartbreaking that big wealthy corporations use their resources to try and silence somebody like me, especially during the holidays where my focus is definitely on other priorities,” said Zaragoza.

“But you know what, this is a common tactic to try and intimidate those that speak up and as an advocate for human rights, environmental sustainability and food justice, I believe in shedding light on things that matter. But unfortunately, this is the reality of the behind-the-scenes of activism.”

Zaragoza also expressed her gratitude to her followers for being a supportive community she could turn to and discuss these matters with. She assured them that she would keep them informed as events unfold.
