ICE sightings reported in Pomona, Ontario, Upland and Montclair

The Inland Coalition for Immigrant Justice has posted several videos today of ICE sightings in Pomona, Ontario, Upland and Montclair. 

A video shows men dressed in bulletproof vests and masks arriving at the Pomona Day Labor Center and detaining a man. The caption says the incident occurred on Thursday, November 13, at 12:40 p.m.

Three of the agents detained a man, holding him on the floor until they could handcuff him, while three others circled them to keep the people who were filming and yelling at them far from the man on the floor. 

They were driving in unmarked cars and SUVs at the Labor Center in 1682 W Mission Blvd, Pomona. 

“We have rights,” a man is heard saying. “Follow the Constitution.” “This is private property,” another person is heard saying. “Get out, you don’t have a warrant.” 

One of the masked agents points at a police patch in front of his bulletproof vest. He then gets into a Jeep SUV and drives off. Other agents were inside a white Ford Expedition. 

“Cowards!” a woman is heard saying in the video. “You are cowards.”

Another video shows a man being detained and taken just outside of the Target store in Montclair at 9052 Central Avenue at 10:02 a.m.

The Citizens4Ontario Instagram account lists more than 10 people taken from several locations throughout Pomona, Montclair, Ontario and Upland in one day. They are asking local residents to call the Ontario City Clerk at 909-395-2009 to ask that the City Council create a Legal Defense Fund for the residents affected by the ICE raids.

Javier Hernandez from the Inland Coalition for Immigrant Justice called on elected officials to protect the community in a post on social media. “You need to be doing more to protect our community,” Hernandez said. “You were elected to fight for Californians.”
