Looking for free plans this upcoming weekend? Look no further, the Museum of Latin American Art is hosting the Afro-Latinx Festival once again.

The free event at MOLAA celebrates the cultural diversity of the Americas and the African influence in Latin America. The festival will also highlight the importance of African legacy in Latin America through food, art workshops, live performances, Afro-Latinx-owned businesses like Mestico Chili, and a live DJ performance from DJ iLL Meca also known as Angie Fuentez, a South Los Angeles native.

As a multicultural Afro-Latina, DJ iLLMeca has been influenced by Hip Hop, Motown, Soul, Reggae, Soca, Mariachi, as well as various Latin music genres. Growing up in the 90s music was a big part of her childhood, she was always surrounded by Hip Hop culture. Her DJ Journey started in 2018 and since then she's been at events throughout the Los Angeles, Long Beach and San Diego areas. You can catch her rocking the floor at the Afro-Latinx Festival along with other artists and dancing performances.
