On Monday, November 11, Flor Martinez Zaragoza, the activist and influencer, is organizing a rally and march for systemic change along with other advocates and organization allies.
In an Instagram post with information about the march, she said, “It's time to rise. You had a couple days to feel the feels and now it's time to put your emotions and energy into action. It's time to put that energy into protecting each other, building community, chanting out loud, marching the streets to be seen and heard and standing up for those suffering in the shadows. We will not be intimidated into silence,” Zaragoza stated.
She also asked her followers to stand for what is right and defend the communities. “By attending actions, you are showing the world that you care, you are showing the people you care, you are letting go of any fear and showing up for yourself and the ones you love. Many in our communities are really suffering right now, do you know what the words ‘mass deportations’ feels like? Do you know what it feels like to have your family forcefully separated? Do you know what it feels like to feel that the whole world is against you? No one should feel this betrayal,” she said. Zaragoza is an undocumented immigrant with DACA status and is known for her activist work with farm workers and DACA recipients.
