Diego Luna spoke out on the current state of the nation and the world during a red carpet interview at the Golden Globes Awards held in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Luna spoke candidly with the Los Angeles Times about the fear he feels for the communities in the U.S. and what “Andor” means for the situation that the nation is currently facing.

“I am really worried,” Luna said. “I am very scared that this country is taking so many liberties… to intervene in Venezuela and threaten Mexico, Colombia, Cuba and even Greenland.”

“I do believe that we are living in very dangerous times,” he continued. “What has been happening with ICE for months, Minnesota is just one more example of the brutality that a community is suffering here. The fear that many people are suffering.”

Luna, who wore a dark brown suit and sported a thick mustache reminiscent of Pancho Villa and Emiliano Zapata, said that “Andor” is a “reminder of the power that we have as a community, the power that is behind organizing, of community working together when you put love, empathy and compassion first.”

Luna was nominated for the Actor in a Drama TV Series award for his interpretation of Cassian Andor in the Disney+ series “Andor.”

The series follows Cassian through his journey to become a member of the resistance against the Galactic Empire, an oppressive, fascist, autocratic government.
