As part of the all-new “DORA” series launch, Nickelodeon broke a Guinness World Record for the largest ever display of piñatas.

A vibrant, spectacular display of 1,800 piñatas of varying shapes, colors and sizes was displayed during the 78th Annual East L.A. Mexican Independence Day Parade. Diana Zermeño, the voice of Dora in the new series, served as co-grand marshal of the parade.

Produced by Nickelodeon Animation and featuring 26 CG-animated 11-minute episodes, the second season of “DORA” premiered this past Friday, September 13 on Paramount+.

“Dora the Explorer” became a global pop-culture phenomenon since its launch on Nickelodeon on August 14, 2000, and remains one of the most-watched preschool shows of all time nearly 25 years later. In millions of homes around the world, Dora stands as a hero and friend who transcends social, racial and linguistic boundaries, helping preschoolers learn in Spanish and English.

The series is seen in more than 150 countries and territories and translated in 32 languages on Nickelodeon channels and Paramount+ around the globe and through syndication. Throughout its eighth-season run, “Dora the Explorer” received countless accolades, including Emmy, Peabody, NAACP, Alma, Imagen, Latino Spirit, Gracie Allen, Parents’ Choice, Common Sense Media and Television Critics Association awards.
