Comedy, representation and entertainment are coming to various corners of Los Angeles with the “Netflix Is A Joke Festival,” taking place May 4-10, 2026. For seven days, the festival will feature over 350 live events, including stand-up performances, variety shows, comedy podcasts, tapings, exclusive events and screenings.
Thirty-five of the most prestigious venues in Los Angeles, including the Hollywood Bowl, the Greek Theatre, the Intuit Dome, the Comedy Store, Laugh Factory and Hollywood Improv, will host several comedian acts, many of whom are Latino.
Tracey Pakosta, vice president of Netflix’s comedy series, said the one-week event is more than a comedic festival but also one of community and unity.
“What makes this fest so special is the sense of community—it’s a rare moment where the comedy industry and the fans come together in one place,” she said. “We’re not just putting on shows; we’re creating one-of-a-kind experiences that celebrate the range, depth and sheer brilliance of the comedy world right now.”
This will be the third year that Netflix puts together the comedy festival, which has always taken place in L.A. Since its 2022 debut and 2024 return, Netflix is a Joke Fest has featured both upcoming and well-established comedians.
This year, the lineup of comedians includes SNL breakout cast member Marcello Hernández, joining Jon Stewart, Conan O’Brien, Adam Sandler, Ali Wong, Kevin Hart, Nate Bargatze, Nikki Glaser and Seth Rogan, among others. Also, as part of this year’s festival, musical acts are being added, including Lizzo, Jelly Roll, Ben Folds, the B-52s and Latinos like Feid.

Latino comedians make up a big part of this year's lineup. Here are some of the acts to keep an eye out for during festival dates.
Marcelo Hernández

Marcello Hernández is a comedian, writer and actor. He is currently a cast member on ‘Saturday Night Live,” known for fan-favorite sketches like “Protective Mom,” “Immigrant Dad Talk Show,” and the “Domingo” series.
Last month, in December 2025, he debuted his Netflix special, “American Boy,” where he performed jokes about his Latino roots, culture and traditions.
In 2025, Hernández was recognized by Time Magazine as one of the year’s Latino leaders, was included in the Hollywood Reporter’s Latin Power List and received a Webby Award for Outstanding Comedy Performance for his work on SNL.

Franco Escamilla

Escamilla is a comedian born in Cuautla, Morelos and will be performing at the festival in Spanish. The 44-year-old stand-up performer is well known as “el amo del sarcasmo,” or the “master of sarcasm,” for his sarcastic jokes that have made him grow in popularity in Mexico and Central America. His dark humor has characterized him in his artistic career, making a lot of his performances go viral on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
He has released multiple Netflix specials and is recognized as one of the most influential Spanish-speaking comedians worldwide through live shows.

Frankie Quiñones

Quiñones is a Mexican-American stand-up comedian, actor and creator, known for his character work. He is also famously recognized for his role in Hulu’s critically acclaimed show “This Fool,” where he plays Luis, the cousin of the main character, who was recently released from parole after serving eight years in prison, bringing chaotic energy to the show.
Through this role, Quiñones was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at the Independent Spirit Awards.
In 2025, he filmed his first hour special this year for Hulu with Ali Wong as his director.
Entertainment Weekly called Quiñones’s performance in “This Fool” the best comedic performance of 2022.
Quiñones was born in San Fernando, California and raised in Oxnard.

Julio Torres
Julio Torres is an award-winning writer and comedian from El Salvador. The 38-year-old was also a writer for “Saturday Night Live,” where, as part of the show's writing team, he was nominated for four Emmy Awards.
In 2024, Torres wrote, directed, executive-produced and starred in HBO’s six-episode series “Fantasmas,” which earned two nominations at the 2025 Film Independent Spirit Awards for Best New Scripted Series and Best Lead Performance in a New Scripted Series, as well as a nomination for Breakthrough Comedy Series at the 2025 Gotham Television Awards.
Torres is also behind the HBO series “Los Espookys,” which he co-created with Fred Armisen and Ana Fabrega. It is a Spanish-language comedy that follows a group of friends who run a business orchestrating fake supernatural happenings for a series of peculiar clients.

Leo González is a comedy creator and comedian based in Los Angeles. Gonzalez went viral on TikTok and Instagram with his comedic sketches and relatable Latino characters.
His skits that blend humor and daily life scenarios with a bicultural, Spanglish flair made Gonzalez's social media career during the pandemic.
Gonzalez, who was studying broadcast journalism, has now been featured in publications like Rolling Stone, L.A. Times and Fortune Magazine.
Since then, González, the son of Central Valley agricultural workers, has become a favorite face amongst mainstream talent on music and entertainment red carpets, from appearing at the Grammys and Premio Lo Nuestro to hosting events for Warner Bros. and featuring in Netflix series.
Gonzalez was also named a “TikTok Latinx Trailblazer” as well as an “Icon” on TikTok’s first-ever Discover List, which highlights trendsetters and leaders on the platform.

Ralph Barbosa is an American stand-up comedian of Mexican American descent, recognized for his disarming, laid-back comedic style that has made him a standout on stage, on TV and online.
On October 31, 2024, Barbosa premiered his first Netflix stand-up special, “Ralph Barbosa: Cowabunga.” The hour-long special was shot in August 2023 at the Kessler Theater in his hometown of Dallas, Texas.
In that same year, he made his debut on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” and his ‘Comedy Central Stand-up Featuring: Ralph Barbosa” set topped 3.7 million views on YouTube.
