Southern California is experiencing record-high temperatures, with the heat expected to continue throughout the week. To help Angelenos stay cool, the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles will open its centers to the public for free during the heat wave.
Just yesterday, 14 records were broken across Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, and this is likely to continue for another day or two, according to the National Weather Service.

Anyone who needs to cool off with air conditioning can do so during their normal operating hours. Many of their centers have water fountains and water bottles, and some have charging stations. Make sure to bring your headphones, your favorite book or anything else that can help keep you relaxed, calm and cool while you ride out the heat.
