With the June 2, 2026 Statewide Direct Primary Election approaching, the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (RR/CC) is recruiting bilingual community members to work as election workers at vote centers countywide and earn up to $1,180 for their service.
With 6.6 million eligible voters and 5.6 million registered voters in L.A. County, thousands of election workers are needed at vote centers to provide language assistance and support the voting process throughout the election period.
RR/CC is currently seeking community members who speak English and an additional high-need language. Languages in high demand also include Japanese, Khmer, Thai, Farsi, Gujarati, Hindi and Korean.
Those selected will work in targeted communities across L.A. County, including harder-to-reach areas such as Brentwood, Culver City, Hollywood, Inglewood, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Panorama City, Pasadena, San Pedro, Santa Monica, Torrance and Woodland Hills.
The RR/CC is also responsible for the registration of voters, maintenance of voter files, conduct of federal, state, local and special elections and the verification of initiative, referendum and recall petitions. Each year, the office participates in approximately 200 elections, which can include the federal, state, county, school district, city, and special district elections.
A community election worker must be 18 years of age and a United States citizen registered to vote in California. Non-Citizens with legal permanent resident status (green card holder) can also participate.
To serve as a community election worker you must:
- Complete all training requirements.
-Have a reliable email address that is checked regularly.
-Be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
-Be in good physical condition that allows extensive periods of sitting, standing and some moderate lifting.
-Have reliable transportation to the vote center.

“Election Workers are the people who make voting possible at Vote Centers across the County,” said Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean C. Logan. “We are especially looking for bilingual community members who can assist voters and help ensure language access at Vote Centers.”
Election Workers receive training before the election and can earn up to $1,180 during the election period, with additional stipends available for bilingual workers who speak, read and write in one of the County’s supported languages.
