Following the premiere of the documentary “Tomorrow Was Beautiful” on Netflix, Karol G continues to make history, ranking as the most-streamed album by a Latina artist in a single day on Spotify.
Karol G, also known as “La Bichota,” is one of the most influential Latina artists in the world as she keeps elevating her music to new heights and breaking barriers in a predominantly male-dominated industry.
This is not the first time the singer has made history. Last year, she became the first woman to win in the best música urbana category at the Grammys and the first Latina to be named Billboard's “Woman of the Year.”
Also, her album “Mañana Será Bonito” was one of the Associated Press’ picks for best of the year and became the first-ever Spanish-language album by a female artist to hit Number One on the album charts, and just recently she was nominated for multiple top categories, including favorite female artist, at the Ritmo Latino Awards.
Her accomplishments go far beyond anyone's imagination. In the last five years, her streaming numbers have surged by an impressive 270% on Spotify and just on that music platform alone, she now has over 49 million monthly listeners across the globe, all while building a solid fan base of women that feel heard and seen by her music. Most of her fans are in Mexico, the U.S., Spain, Colombia and Argentina.
With record streams in songs and albums, Karol G has become a favorite artist among Spotify users. Her songs appear in more than 120 million playlists and her most popular songs on Spotify are Tusa, with 1.6 billion plays and PROVENZA, with 1.4 billion plays. Currently Karol G has seven songs in the Spotify Billions Club and is very close to reaching the eighth with AMARGURA, a record held by very few artists in the world.
“Mañana Será Bonito” has been her most iconic album yet with the most accumulated streams, as it has now surpassed the 7.3 billion plays barrier and become the fourth most streamed album in the world since 2024. The number of streams is only expected to rise even higher due to her Netflix documentary, which premiered on May 8 in Medellín.
The film chronicles her rise to stardom, including her record-breaking “Mañana Será Bonito” tour, and her journey as a woman in the male-dominated reggaetón genre. The documentary also explores her relationship with Feid and other collaborations.
Without any doubt, this album has marked a turning point in the career of “La Bichota.”
