We are headed into August, and the kids will soon be off to their new classes. With that in mind, it's time to prepare for all their back-to-school needs.
To launch the school year, Assemblymember Tina McKinnor (D-Inglewood) and Brotherhood Crusade — with support from the Chris Paul Family Foundation and Kaiser Permanente — will host a Back-to-School Health Fair and Giveaway on August 1 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Crozier Middle School at 120 West Regent Street in Inglewood, CA.
Hundreds of Inglewood families will receive free backpacks and K-12 school supplies while supplies last, with health screenings and community resources available for all attendees.
The Back-to-School Health Fair and Giveaway is a collaborative effort by Assemblymember McKinnor, in partnership with Brotherhood Crusade, Amer-I-Can, Balance of Life, Chris Paul Family Foundation, Crop Swap, Keep It Run Hundred, Power Greatness Strength, Social Justice Learning Institute, St. John's Community Health and Kaiser Permanente.
“As families prepare for the new school year, access to school supplies, health resources and community support can help create a stronger foundation for student success,” a statement from the Brotherhood Crusade said. “This event reflects a continued commitment by community leaders and partners to provide resources that support the educational, health and wellness needs of Inglewood students and families.”
