Earlier this week, Long Beach's Mayor, Rex Richardson, gave comedian Gabriel Iglesias, better known as "Fluffy," a key to the city in front of a sold-out crowd at the Terrace Theatre.

The internationally-known and loved  47-year-old spent most of his youth in Long Beach. The show in Long Beach where he was honored was aimed at teens and young adults, and in collaboration with the city, free tickets to anyone between the ages of 16 and 24.

In an interview with ABC News, Iglesias said that he was still in shock about the show and getting a key to his hometown. "It hasn't hit me yet what a big deal tonight is," he said. "When I first got here [in Long Beach] with my mom, we were in Section 8 housing. We were on welfare. We were struggling."

During his "Don't Worry Be Fluffy Tour," Iglesias is showcasing all new material, making a few more stops in California before heading to the East Coast. While some tickets were free, “Fluffy” fans can still purchase seats for as little as $15, and part of the proceeds will go to the mayor's "Stronger Beach" initiative, which provides youth resources.
