Raúl De Molina from “El Gordo y La Flaca” has been very vocal about his solidarity with the undocumented community.

During CBS's live New Year's Eve coverage that he was hosting from Times Square, De Molina was asked for his wish for 2026. As he began expressing hope and improvements for the Latino and immigrant communities he was quickly interrupted mid-sentence as the broadcast cut to a commercial break.

The clip spread rapidly across social media, sparking backlash and claims of censorship from viewers who felt his message about immigrant rights was silenced. The situation has drawn a lot of attention, particularly because he has been a host of CBS’s New Year’s Eve coverage for more than 30 years.

De Molina has yet to address the incident on social media but shared his well-wishes alongside photos of his experience of the celebration. “Happy New Year! May 2026 bring you many good things. 30 years ringing in the New Year from the best place in the world, Times Square, New York. Tonight, @dianaross sang,” he wrote.

Meanwhile his followers flooded his posts with messages of support for speaking out on behalf of immigrants amid raid operations happening. “Thank you Raul for using your platform to speak about the injustice concerning us Latinos. Your efforts will never go unnoticed. Shame on you CBS,” a fan shared.

This cut off moment for De Molina has created more solidarity from Latino communities and advocates for immigrant rights, with some even calling for a boycott of CBS. But they are not the only broadcast channel that people are trying to cancel.

As the immigration raids intensify across the nation, different groups have been demanding streaming services like Spotify and broadcast media companies like Univision and Telemundo to terminate all advertising contracts with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). “I didn’t know that someone from Univision was speaking up against the injustice. That’s awesome at Raúl De Molina,” another fan shared.
